Il 15 aprile 2026 è andata online Objection, una piattaforma che si autodefinisce «tribunale della verità». Dietro c'è un finanziatore noto, Peter Thiel — lo stesso che ha co-fondato Palantir Technologies, oggi una delle infrastrutture software per l'analisi dei dati più estese del mondo, al servizio di governi e grandi imprese. Non sosteniamo che le due cose siano la stessa cosa. Osserviamo che condividono un finanziatore, una logica e una direzione: la costruzione privata dell'infrastruttura del giudizio. On 15 April 2026, Objection went live — a platform that calls itself a "court of truth." Behind it stands a well-known financier, Peter Thiel — the same man who co-founded Palantir Technologies, today one of the world's most extensive data-analysis software infrastructures, serving governments and large corporations. We do not claim the two are the same thing. We observe that they share a financier, a logic, and a direction: the private construction of the infrastructure of judgment.

01La scala di PalantirThe scale of Palantir

Per capire il peso del fenomeno conviene guardare i numeri verificabili di Palantir — non per giudicare l'azienda, ma per misurare la capacità materiale dell'ecosistema da cui questi strumenti emergono. I dati che seguono provengono dai documenti depositati presso la SEC (Form 8-K, esercizi 2019–2025). To grasp the weight of the phenomenon, it helps to look at Palantir's verifiable numbers — not to judge the company, but to measure the material capacity of the ecosystem these tools emerge from. The figures below are drawn from filings with the SEC (Form 8-K, fiscal years 2019–2025).

Ma il dato più rivelatore non è quanto cresce Palantir: è da dove nascono i suoi ricavi. L'azienda riporta due segmenti — Government (difesa, intelligence, sanità pubblica, enti federali) e Commercial (imprese private). Guardare il mix nel tempo significa leggere il lignaggio dell'infrastruttura. But the most revealing figure is not how fast Palantir grows: it is where its revenue comes from. The company reports two segments — Government (defense, intelligence, public health, federal agencies) and Commercial (private enterprise). Reading the mix over time means reading the lineage of the infrastructure.

02Perché è dirompenteWhy it is disruptive

Nel mondo mainstream Objection è un elemento dirompente, e lo è per una ragione precisa: rovescia l'asimmetria su cui poggia il giornalismo d'inchiesta. La tutela della fonte — il diritto di non rivelarla — viene riformulata da chi promuove la piattaforma come un difetto da correggere, anziché come un presidio deontologico. Sotto la rubrica dell'«Honor Index», i documenti ufficiali e gli atti regolatori pesano di più, le fonti anonime quasi nulla; e a giudicare è una «giuria» di modelli linguistici di OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, Mistral e Google. È una mossa che, se normalizzata, sposta il baricentro del giudizio dai tribunali pubblici a sistemi privati a pagamento. In the mainstream world, Objection is a disruptive element — and for a precise reason: it inverts the asymmetry that investigative journalism rests on. Source protection — the right not to reveal one's sources — is reframed by the platform's promoters as a flaw to be corrected, rather than as an ethical safeguard. Under the "Honor Index" rubric, official documents and regulatory filings weigh most, anonymous sources almost nothing; and judgment is rendered by a "jury" of large language models from OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, Mistral and Google. It is a move that, if normalized, shifts the center of gravity of judgment from public courts to private, paid systems.

Ma «dirompente» non significa «da condannare». Significa che merita di essere studiato con strumenti, non con slogan. È esattamente ciò che facciamo qui. But "disruptive" does not mean "to be condemned." It means it deserves to be studied with instruments, not slogans. That is precisely what we do here.

03Chi governa davvero?Who really governs?

A questo punto la domanda si allarga, e va posta con cautela: una manciata di individui della Silicon Valley — Thiel e altri — con le loro infrastrutture di AI sta influenzando, o addirittura determinando, le democrazie e ciò che ne resta, gli stessi Stati Uniti? La risposta onesta inizia rifiutando la versione cospirativa. Non c'è una stanza con dentro chi «governa il mondo». C'è qualcosa di più sobrio e più inquietante: la migrazione di funzioni un tempo riservate alla sfera pubblica — il giudizio, la sicurezza, l'autorità epistemica, persino la stabilità del sistema finanziario — dentro infrastrutture di AI private e concentrate nelle mani di pochissimi capitali. Here the question widens, and it must be put carefully: is a handful of Silicon Valley individuals — Thiel and others — with their AI infrastructures influencing, or even determining, democracies and what remains of them, the United States itself? The honest answer begins by rejecting the conspiratorial version. There is no room with "those who govern the world" inside it. There is something soberer and more disquieting: the migration of functions once reserved to the public sphere — judgment, security, epistemic authority, even the stability of the financial system — into private AI infrastructures concentrated in very few hands of capital.

In the background, a neoreactionary intellectual current that openly criticizes liberal democracy and its "priestly" institutions. The common thread is not a hidden agenda: it is a declared distrust of liberal-democratic public institutions, and a preference for private alternatives — of exit, or of privatized judgment.

Visto così, Objection non è un caso isolato: è uno dei tre bordi dello stesso fenomeno. Seen this way, Objection is not an isolated case: it is one of three edges of the same phenomenon.

Il caso Mythos è il più nitido dei tre, perché qui non c'è interpretazione: l'autorità monetaria sovrana dell'Europa ha dovuto convocare d'urgenza il proprio sistema bancario per negoziare con una capacità privata che non possiede e che non le è stata concessa. Non comandare: negoziare. È il momento in cui un'istituzione pubblica tratta un attore privato come un pari — o come un superiore. The Mythos case is the sharpest of the three, because here there is no interpretation: Europe's sovereign monetary authority had to urgently convene its own banking system to negotiate with a private capability it does not possess and was not granted. Not command: negotiate. It is the moment a public institution treats a private actor as a peer — or as a superior.

E non è sola. Il 25 maggio 2026 Papa Leone XIV ha presentato l'enciclica Magnifica Humanitas, dedicata alla dignità umana nell'epoca dell'AI, affiancato da Christopher Olah, co-fondatore di Anthropic. Già a gennaio il Pontefice aveva denunciato il «controllo oligopolistico» dei sistemi algoritmici da parte di «una manciata di aziende». Due autorità sovrane — quella monetaria e quella spirituale — nel giro di due giorni hanno riconosciuto lo stesso fatto: la capacità si è concentrata più in fretta delle istituzioni nate per governarla. And it is not alone. On 25 May 2026 Pope Leo XIV presented the encyclical Magnifica Humanitas, on human dignity in the age of AI, alongside Christopher Olah, co-founder of Anthropic. Already in January the Pontiff had denounced the "oligopolistic control" of algorithmic systems by "a handful of companies." Two sovereign authorities — monetary and spiritual — within two days acknowledged the same fact: capability has concentrated faster than the institutions built to govern it.

C'è un dettaglio che cambia tutto e che gli stessi protagonisti ammettono: non sappiamo bene cosa sia, davvero, un modello di frontiera. Cambia, muta di continuo, e lo si studia con metodi presi in prestito dalle neuroscienze — l'interpretabilità che cerca di «leggere» reti neurali artificiali come si leggerebbe un cervello. Olah è, non a caso, tra i pionieri di questo campo. Una capacità che neppure chi la costruisce comprende fino in fondo, e che già siede al tavolo della BCE e in Vaticano: è questo il vero baricentro del potere contemporaneo, più di qualunque organigramma. One detail changes everything, and the protagonists themselves admit it: we do not really know what a frontier model is. It shifts, it mutates continuously, and it is studied with methods borrowed from neuroscience — interpretability, which tries to "read" artificial neural networks the way one would read a brain. Olah is, not by chance, among the pioneers of this field. A capability that not even its builders fully understand, and that already sits at the ECB's table and in the Vatican: this is the true center of gravity of contemporary power, more than any org chart.

Quindi: Objection è solo un tribunale per la stampa? È già altro. È l'organo rivolto al giornalismo di una migrazione più ampia — la stessa che ha un bordo finanziario (Mythos/BCE) e uno statuale (Palantir). Diventerà di più? Forecast aperto (orizzonte [12-24M], confidenza limitata): se la logica del «punteggio» privato viene adottata da terzi, sì. Per ora resta un sintomo. Ma i sintomi, in questa storia, hanno la cattiva abitudine di diventare struttura. Vedremo. So: is Objection just a press tribunal? It is already something else. It is the journalism-facing organ of a broader migration — the same one with a financial edge (Mythos/ECB) and a state edge (Palantir). Will it become more? Open forecast (horizon [12-24M], limited confidence): if the logic of the private "score" is adopted by third parties, yes. For now it remains a symptom. But symptoms, in this story, have the bad habit of becoming structure. We'll see.
